Christian choir to perform Friday

Azusa Pacific University’s Bel Canto Women’s Choir will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at Crossroads Bible Church. Admission is free but good-will donations will be accepted.

During the concert, Bel Canto Women’s Choir will combine musical variety with a high level of performance in their ministry.

The Bel Canto Women’s Choir is one of the oldest choral ensembles in the APU School of Music in Azusa, Calif. For more than 30 years, the choir has performed in churches and schools on a semi-weekly basis throughout the U.S. and the world.

Also, the choir has been a featured as a guest ensemble on the Crystal Cathedral’s weekly “House of Power” television program and performs regularly at Disneyland’s annual “Community Artist Showcase.”  In addition, the choir has produced many custom recordings. Their latest release is titled, “From One Generation to Another.”  

The choir’s repertoire represents many musical styles, from traditional women’s choral music to American spirituals, contemporary music, hymns, folk songs, jazz arrangements and contemporary Christian music. It’s a 40-member choir.
