Caribbean vacation winner announced

More than $70,000 was spent at participating Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce member merchants from the beginning of the Locals Care shopper loyalty program through the recent “Can You Spell Caribbean?” contest deadline.  More than 315 shoppers were entered into the contest once for each $100 in purchases they made since Jan. 15. A random drawing of participants determined the winner of the grand prize, Babetta Marrone.  Babetta will receive a travel credit of up to $2,500 with Chamber member business Dugan’s Travel of White Rock.  The amount of the prize corresponds to the estimated cost of an all-inclusive cruise or resort vacation for two purchased through Dugan’s. Four other drawing winners each were awarded a $50 Locals Care gift card.  They are Gary Webb, Jennifer Guy, Yvonne Deshayes and Lawrence Kwei.“I shop local whenever I can and a favorite store of mine is CB Fox,” said Babetta Marrone, winner of the drawing. She continued, “I started using a Locals Care card more than a year ago in Santa Fe so I was familiar with it when the program was started here.
