The woman wanted on Methamphetamine trafficking charges who fled town last month and was later captured by Los Alamos police behind a Taco Bell in Albuquerque has been bound over for trial.

In a preliminary hearing Monday, Los Alamos Magistrate Court Judge Pat Casados ordered Leslie Kathryn Draper, 23, bound over for trial in District Court on seven counts of trafficking a controlled substance (Methamphetamine).

Draper remains in the Los Alamos County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.

LAPD has widened its investigation of Draper’s case in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.

“This investigation, now entering its fourth month, has resulted in criminal charges against not only Ms. Draper, but also the identification of at least nine other co-conspirators,” Det. Doug Johnson said.

“Charges against each person identified are now being prepared.”

A search warrant was recently served on a home at 3851-C Alabama St., in which police found drug paraphernalia. They swabbed for Methamphetamine during the search and sent the samples to a laboratory for testing.

“The samples tested above legal levels,” Johnson said. “This home was rented out to someone and it’s going to cost thousands for the owner to have the home mitigated.”
