Patricia Burnside had the top prediction in this week’s Pace Race.
The Pace Race, a weekly run hosted by the Atomic City Roadrunners’ running club, was Tuesday in the Western Area on the Satch Cowan and Quemazon Trails.
The 1-mile course was on paved roads and sidewalks and most of the best predictions came from that course.
In all, 36 runners and walkers took part this week.
Burnside had an adjusted error of 9 seconds on the 1-mile course. Daughter Melina Burnside had the next-best prediction of the week, coming in at 12 seconds off. No other competitors were closer than 87 seconds.
The fastest runner on the 1-mile course was Melina Burnside (8:19) and Colin Pedicini (13:16).
On the 3-mile course, Ted Romero had the best time, finishing in 33:12. Romero was followed by Nikol Strother, who came in at 33:26.
The next Pace Race is scheduled for Tuesday. That race, the “Run With a View,” will start at 6 p.m. at N.M. 501 approximately two miles from the intersection with the ski hill road.
There will be 1- and 3-mile courses on pavement and trails available.
