Suzanne Santemma and her healing hands have arrived in Los Alamos. She recently set up shop at suite 14 in the Mary Deal Building, across from the Reel Deal Theater. Her business, Essential Touch Massage, offers deep tissue, rehabilitation, nurturing and relaxing massages.“I love massage,” Santemma said. “I love putting my hands on people.”She not only brings her interest in massage but also experience to the table. “Since it’s been so long, once I put my hands on someone I have a pretty good idea of what that body needs and can adjust the massage accordingly.”She has been in Los Alamos between six and seven months but has been doing massage for 10 years. In the past, Santemma was the department head and masseuse at Ten Thousand Waves, an internationally acclaimed spa, in Santa Fe for nine years. She left, she explained because she wanted to stop doing management and get back to do doing massage.Santemma decided to relocate to Los Alamos because it appears there is a need for her services. “I love it (here),” she said. “Everyone here is so sweet.” She added residents appear to be active and health-conscious and she enjoys the small-town atmosphere.Santemma said she discovered massage as an attorney.
