Closing party scheduled for exhibit

A closing party for “Two Views One Vision” at 3 p.m. Saturday at the La Tienda Exhibit Space, 7 Caliente Road in Eldorado.
Come see 60 collaborative paintings by Cuban artist Pablo Perea and American artist Linda Storm
“To me our paintings are a visual representation of the harmony that can exist between different cultures.” Storm said.
“We found our common ground as two artists. We thought we knew everything about ourselves, but from this surreal land that we created the whole world looks different... including us.”

Jemez Gallery to host reception

In celebration of Earth Day, Jemez Fine Art Gallery will show art works that utilize recycled materials as creative media. Artists of all ages, professionals and nonprofessionals, are invited to submit work for this special exhibit. A portion of the sales will be donated to Jemez Sustainable Solutions. Artists are invited to increase their donations.
A reception for the artists will be held from 5-8 p.m. April 25 at the gallery. The show will continue through the month. Jemez Fine Art Gallery is at 17346 N.M. 4, just south of the Jemez Springs Village Plaza. For more information, contact the gallery at 575-829-3340 or go to jemezfineart.com.
Scholarship applications now being accepted
The Santa Fe Community Foundation is accepting applications for the 2014-15 academic year for the Michael S. Currier Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund provides renewable scholarships to low-income students from six Northern New Mexico counties who plan to pursue an undergraduate degree at an accredited 4-year institution beginning fall 2014.
Students must be residents of one of the following counties: Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, Taos, Los Alamos, San Miguel and Mora. Scholarships will be paid to the educational institution in the student’s name to subsidize the costs of tuition, fees, books and living expenses.
Applications must be received by May 9, 2014.
