The Bradbury Science Museum will join cultural institutions across the country to participate in the Smithsonian Institution’s fourth annual Museum Day on Saturday.
The national event is sponsored by Smithsonian magazine as a celebration of culture, learning, and the dissemination of knowledge. Museum Day follows the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, D.C., museums.
“The Bradbury Science Museum already has a free-admission policy, but we’re participating to help raise awareness of the importance of museums that this event fosters. We’re looking forward to having the Bradbury represent local New Mexico museums in this nationwide event,” said Bradbury Science Museum Director Linda Deck in an announcement Tuesday.
Last year more than 100,000 people attended Museum Day nationwide. All 50 states plus Puerto Rico were represented with 651 museums participating.
More information about participating venues and a free admission card is available at http://microsite.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/. A card is also available for subscribers in the September issue of the magazine.
