The Los Alamos Hilltopper boys tennis team won its third straight Carlsbad Invitational this weekend.

At the invitational, Los Alamos won five of the six singles flights and finished second in two of the three doubles flights to earn the team championship.

Hilltopper head coach Giri Raichur said this season’s Carlsbad Invitational victory was particularly satisfying to him, feeling his team had the best outing he had seen from his top six individuals.

Los Alamos was the only out-of-area team competing this weekend. All the other teams at the tournament were from southeastern New Mexico or west Texas.

The Hilltoppers picked up 75 team points, easily distancing themselves from El Paso (Texas) Burges, which finished as the runner-up with 51 points.
