Boys basketball: LA, Capital meet in semis tonight

Los Alamos and Capital will square-off in the District 2AAAA boys basketball tournament semifinals.The winner of tonight’s game will play Española Valley Saturday for the 2AAAA championship and will guarantee itself a spot in the Class AAAA playoffs.The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Edward Ortiz Gymnasium.Los Alamos and Capital split their regular season district games, with each team winning at home. Los Alamos beat Capital 51-49 on Jan. 29 and Capital earned a 54-49 win Feb. 15.The Hilltoppers (18-9) defeated Bernalillo Tuesday 68-51 to advance to tonight’s semifinal contst.KRSN AM 1490 will carry tonight’s game. Gene Mortensen will start the broadcast at 6:50 p.m.
