Bonita Pearl Burkhart

BURKHART – Bonita Pearl Burkhart, age 83, passed away at the Los Alamos Medical Center Dec. 17, 2007, after complications following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.She was preceded in death by her father, Dewey C. Sharp; mother, Maudie M. Sharp; and brothers: David Sharp, Daniel Sharp and Joseph Sharp.She was born in Hominy, Okla., on Dec. 20, 1923, to Dewey C. and Maudie M. Sharp. She married Arthur M. Burkhart, Sr. at the Los Alamos First Baptist Church on Sept. 10, 1958. They were soul mates until the end, Arthur passing away two days after her. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Social Order of the Beaucceant, and Order of the Amaranth.She is survived by her daughter, Gloria F. Burkhart of Farmington, N.M.; son, Arthur M. Burkhart Jr. of Los Alamos, N.M.; sister, Juanita M. Hume (Kenneth) of Fairview, N.M.; brothers: George A. Sharp (Ann) of Wewoka, Okla.; Kenneth D. Sharp (Joan) of Chickasha, Okla., Carl D. Sharp of Yukon, Okla.; sisters: Geneva M. Coy of Los Alamos, N.M.; and LeVita J. Pearson of Little Rock, Ark.A visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at McGee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, 1399 Luisa St., Santa Fe, NM 87505 – 505-984-8600.
