COMER – Bob Everett Comer, Versailles, Mo., died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at home. He was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Louis Bernard and Mary Katherine Lampson Comer. On Nov. 21, 1962, in Kansas City, Mo., he married Sandra Kaye Ball.

In 1961, he received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kansas. In 1965, he began his 25-year career at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he worked for the Facilities Engineering Division in several engineering and management positions in support of various projects, including LAMPF and SNM. He retired in 1990 and moved to his family’s Missouri Century farm and established a successful cow-calf operation and enjoyed his family and genealogy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bryan and Barry, and four grandchildren, Jason, Samantha, Adaya and Jesse.

Memorial donations to encourage the youth to study and perpetuate American history can be made to the Christopher Casey Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, James Purcell, Treasurer, 829 Boonville Rd., Jefferson City, Mo., 65109.

Funeral services were Wednesday, July 2, at the Hopewell Union Church, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.
