Erin Heather Bjorklund, 21, a resident of Los Alamos, passed away suddenly in a tragic accident on Friday, October 3, 2008. Erin was attending Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she was planning to graduate in December. She was an honor student studying History and Philosophy with a minor in math.
She was born in Hershey, PA, but attended school in Los Alamos since 2nd grade. She ran cross country and lettered in music and academics in high school, studied three years of Latin and took all the math courses offered. She attended Allstate music festival all four years of high school, attended district Honor Choir and sang in Harmony & Encore Choirs throughout high school. Mrs. Paula Nichols, the choir director was one of her favorite teachers. She loved to sing, play violin, and piano. She was part of the White Rock Baptist Church Youth Worship Team, sharing her gift of music.
She spent this past summer in Los Alamos working at the Department of Health in Santa Fe and had become quite a gourmet cook, specializing in vegetarian dishes. She was vibrant, full of life, bright, talented, creative, sweet and loving. She was wonderful and a beautiful person. She is loved and greatly missed by her family and many friends.
