Los Alamos, it’s about that time.
Whether you’re a hiker, biker, beer and wine enthusiast, or just a person who wants to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors, Summerfest ’08 has a little something for everybody.
The annual event, held at Pajarito Ski Mountain, will feature newly expanded biking trails, a live musical performance, lifts to hiking trails, and a beer wine garden sponsored by area brewers.
“As always, Summerfest ushers in the summer mountain biking season with live music, lift service and a great beer and wine fest,” event spokesman Thad Hahn said.
Atomic City Transit will be offering a free shuttle service from Los Alamos to the Pajarito Ski Area to ensure that festival-goers enjoy themselves responsibly. The shuttle will depart from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at Sullivan Field on the hour, and leave the ski area at every 30 minutes past the hour.
“We really encourage folks to use the service as a safe and convenient way to enjoy the fest,” Hahn said.
This year’s beer garden will feature the addition of two new area brewers, Turtle Mountain Brewing of Rio Rancho, and Marble Brewery of Albuquerque. Ten dollars will get you started with sample mug and taster tickets.
