Betty J. Lindberg

Betty J. Lindberg, 73, died Nov. 28, 2007, surrounded by her children, at the Los Alamos Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 8, 1933, in Parsons, Tenn., to D. Thomas Jennings and Jane Winter Jennings. She and her family moved to New Mexico when she was 14. Mrs. Lindberg moved to Los Alamos in 1962 where she remained until her death.Betty was an artist and home maker holding a B.F.A. from the University of New Mexico. She drew and painted from early childhood receiving instruction from both her father and paternal grandmother. In 1997 she held a showing of her work and quipped that “she (was) paint and brushes and canvases, pens and paper and ink, and wood and gouges and lots of flying wood chips. I can’t NOT paint, at least not for very long.”Survivors include her brother Daniel Jennings and his wife Nancy of Garland, Maine; son Chris J. Lindberg of Livermore, Calif.; daughter Lisa C. Lindberg of Los Alamos; daughter Annie C. Lindberg of Namb, New Mexico; and grandchildren Sarah Pike of Tucson, Ariz.; and Chris Pike of Houston, Texas.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the White Rock Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your local library or Animal Humane Society. Burial to be at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos, N.M.
