KAIN – Beatrice Duran Kain passed Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, after a long illness. She was born in Ribera, N.M., to Jose Duran and Terrisita Padilla Rivera Duran on Sept. 6, 1924. Beatrice was a home defense factory worker in World War II, housewife and successful business partner with husband, Tom Kain. She was preceded in death by brothers Jose Sam Duran, Max Duran and Robert Duran. She is survived by husband Tom Kain; sons Tommy Jr., Edward Kain, Toby Kain and wife Laurie, Donald Kain, Clyde Kain, and Terry Kain and wife Ann; grandchildren Shawn, Dina, Kain, Tom Kain III, Dawn Marie and husband Abe Chavez, and Jesse Kain; nephews and nieces Manuel, Bobby, Patsy, Robert, Millie, Helen, Chanito, Joe, Velma, Armando and many others; and good friends Mrs. Manuel Lopez and Irma.Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at McGee Chapel in Santa Fe on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Immaculate Heart of the Conception in Los Alamos followed.
