Many people in Los Alamos will participate in the Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty (CROP) hunger walk, which helps alleviate world hunger at the grassroots level. This walk will be held in conjunction with the Turkey Trot, both sponsored by LA Cares and Atomic City Roadrunners. The events will held at 2 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Posse Shack. If interested in donating, people can give a check made out to "CROP Walk" to the following local team captains; Jeanne Butler, David Fry, Aaron Goldman, Ginny Melvin, Cathy Walters, and Lynn Wysocki-Smith. CROP and the Atomic City Roadrunners will hold the Annual Turkey Trot at 2 p.m. at the Los Alamos Posse Shack. Turkeys and pies will be awarded to the best time predictors of the 2.57-mile course. Food and drink will be available after the run/walk. CROP will offer T-shirts and sweatshirts for contributions to their organization. ACRR will give out T-shirts to members who qualified for them.
