Bradbury Science Museum Cinema. 10 a.m. Short science films ranging in topics from microbes to aquifers to addiction. The education level of these videos can range from elementary age to adults, depending on the video chosen. Visit lanl.gov/museum/events/calendar.shtml for topics of interest.

Nature Playtimes Sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico. 10-11 a.m. Toddlers, preschoolers and their caregivers come to PEEC to explore the natural world. The public is welcome to a presentation by Dick Meyer of the Hearing Loss Association of America. 1 p.m. in the lower level classroom of the Betty Ehart Center. Meyer will be accompanied by Audrey Chumley, an audiologist/consultant from Santa Fe. No reservations are necessary.

The Los Alamos Volunteer Examiner Group will be giving exams for Amateur Radio Licenses. This session will be 6:30 p.m. in the Club Meeting Room at 4017 Arkansas (the Old Fire Barn). If testing for a new license, bring a picture ID or two other forms of ID with name and address (Utility bill, Credit Card bill or other) and a test fee of $15 either in cash or a check made out to “ARRL VEC.” Fill in Social Security number on the form 605 License Application. For those seeking a license upgrade, one will need the picture ID or two other forms of ID plus an original license and a copy of the license, or a valid CSCE (Certificate of Successful Completion of Exam) and a copy of the CSCE plus the exam fee of $15. The Great Books discussion group is now called Mesa Readers. The group meets from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at Mesa Public Library.
