Skate to holiday music on the outdoor ice rink lit with the reflection of holiday lights under the starry night sky from 6-8 p.m. at the Christmas Eve Luminaria Skate at the Ice Rink. The United Church of Los Alamos will hold a live nativity on the corner of Canyon and Central

Enjoy some Christmas favorites and dance music from the 30s, 40s and 50s as the Los Alamos Big Band plays for the annual Christmas dance from 7:30-10:30 p.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall. Bring in the New Year with the sounds of fireworks at the Los Alamos Fire and Ice New Year’s Eve Celebration, from 6 p.m.-1 a.m. at the Valles Caldera National Preserve. Fees include a moonlit permit to cross-country ski and snowshoe in the Preserve. The Preserve is located at 18161 N.M. 4 in Jemez Springs. Los Alamos Little Theatre will host a New Years Eve celebration with a special performance of Agatha Christie’s “Go Back for Murder” and a catered dinner from Cowgirl BBQ. Doors for the show will open at 7:15 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $45 a person and will be on sale at the Little Theatre box office, 1670 Nectar Street, 5-7 p.m. weekdays until Thursday (payment by cash or check only).
