The Los Alamos Little Theatre hosts “The Truth About Santa,” (PG-13) a melodrama about troubles at the North Pole, performed by the Southwest Rural Theatre Project. The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation.
There will be a living nativity staged in the United Church parking lot at 5 p.m. Greet the holy family, the shepards and kings and pet the stable animals. There will also be a candlelight service at 4 p.m. and one at 11 p.m. with the Christmas choir and communion will be served.
The Los Alamos Big Band will present their annual Christmas Dance from 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Parish Hall, 3700 Canyon Road. The dance will be a special performance to honor the memory of Cathy LeClaire, a former member of the Big Band vocal quartet, the Mountainaires. LeClaire, her husband Rene with Steve and Terry Coggeshall, sang for many years with LABB in the style of the Glenn Miller quartet, the Modernaires. Rene will be the guest vocalist for the upcoming dance. All are welcome to come and dance or just sit and listen to live, authentic Big Band music. Admission is free, although contributions to the Cathy LeClaire Memorial Organ Fund will be welcome.

The Fuller Lodge Art Center is seeking art for their first thematic exhibit of the New Year titled, “Behind the Scenes.” There’s a story behind every piece of artwork; something magical in the process of its creation. East Fork Trail Snowshoe/Winter Hike. Join PEEC’s Michael Altherr for a winter outing along this beautiful trail in the Jemez. This will be a one-way trip of about five miles with a shuttle. Snowshoes can be rented from the Aquatic Center (weather-dependent). Meet at PEEC at 9:15 a.m. to carpool, return around 3 p.m. Free, but space is limited, so register in advance.
