A Christmas in New Mexico dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe Lodge, 750 N. St. Francis Dr. It is sponsored by the Christian Women’s Club and the After 5 Club. The Mariachi Buenaventura (Santa Fe’s all-female Mariachis) will entertain. Speaker Dean Graves of Albuquerque will present “The Blessings of Prison Life.” Cost is $20 inclusive. Dr. Eugene Kovalenko will teach a workshop on dreams at 10 a.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.The class is limited to 10 participants. More information is available by calling Kovalenko at 505-310-0098 or the Senior Center at 662-8920.
Dance Arts Los Alamos’ production of “Nuts, Crackers and Sweets” is a modern twist on the traditional “Nutcracker” and features many genres of dance including modern, tap, jazz as well as ballet. It will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Duane Smith Auditorium. A lively hip hop battle scene staged by faculty member Manny Romero will be a highlight of the show. Tickets are $5 at the door.
