Today
The Los Alamos High School Band invites the public to their annual Winter Concert at 7 p.m. at the Duane Smith Auditorium. Also performing this evening will be the Los Alamos Middle School band.

Wednesday
Nate Downey will speak on permaculture and his new book “Harvest the Rain,” as part of the Winter Wednesdays Talk, at 7 p.m. at the Pajarito Environmental Education Center, 3540 Orange St.

Thursday
The Los Alamos Republican Women will have their annual holiday luncheon at noon at the Best Western Hilltop House. NMFRW president Elaine Miller will install the newly elected  2011-2012 officers. Members are requested to bring their gifts and donations for the adopted family to the luncheon.

The Christmas party for the Los Alamos Master Gardeners will be at 6 p.m. at the home of Denise George, 411 Cheryl, White Rock. It will be a potluck event, so members should bring a dish to share.

Friday
The Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra will host a free Christmas concert from 7-9:30 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church. Visit http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/laso_nm/ for more information.
