North Pole Workshop and Luminaria Walk. The family friendly holiday tradition. 5-7 p.m. starting at North Mesa Stables. Dress warmly, wear your walking shoes. Afterwards, Posse Lodge will have professional digital photographs with Santa and his elves, warm drinks, light refreshments and a holiday craft. The United Thrift Shop will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. United Thrift is open every first Saturday of each month.

Christmas Arts and Craft Fair. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of Los Alamos. Proceeds go towards helping local needy families, Santa Fe soup kitchen and a state orphanage. There will be many local vendors and vendors coming from as far as Los Lunas with a variety of crafts. An opportunity for Christmas shopping. Hot breakfast and lunch are available for purchase.

Visit with Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at HOPE Pregnancy Center’s Open House, 1183 Diamond Drive, Suite E, across from the high school. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get a photo taken with Santa, or without him, while the family enjoys holiday treats during the HOPE Open House. Bring a pack of diapers and wipes as a donation toward the photo op with Santa, and visit with HOPE staff and friends.

Make seasonal crafts in Youth Services. 10 a.m. to noon at the Mesa Public Mesa Library.

The annual Breakfast with Santa, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos, from 7-11 a.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. The breakfast is free. In return, attendees are requested to donate either non-perishable food items or money. Food collected will be used by LA Cares to feed local families in need. Money donated will be used for the Kiwanis/CYFD Foster Children Christmas party. Any money left over from the Foster Children’s party will be used to make up food baskets, which will also be distributed to those in need. Come out and see Santa and enjoy a good breakfast and a morning of good cheer in the true Christmas spirit.

Holiday Crafts Workshop. 10 a.m. to noon in the Youth Services area at the Mesa Public Library. Make paper polar bears, cupcake magnet and snowflakes.

The Second Annual Los Alamos Christkindlmarkt: A traditional German-style holiday market. Held in conjunction with Winterfest. 2-7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the LA Chamber of Commerce parking lot. There will be a variety of local artists, sweets, musicians and crafts set in a festive atmosphere. Sponsored by InvestLosAlamos.com. For more information call 690-0481.
