Today
Special things are happening at Piñon Elementary. From 5:30-7 p.m., the school will host its annual Specials’ Night, with a theme this year of, “All That Jazz.” Piñon students and their parents are invited to participate in activities in the following classrooms: Art, music, library and physical education. Wednesday
Play Bingo at 7:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 401 Trinity Drive. All proceeds go to charitable causes and attendees play in a smoke-free environment. And this week, players get a chance at a free turkey and can come back next week and get a chance at a pie. For more information call Steve at 490-0353.

The Los Alamos Friends of the Shelter is hosting a special community presentation at 5:30 p.m. in Fuller Lodge.Tammy Feibelkorn, who chairs a state committee on this issue, will talk about The Link Between Animal Abuse and Human Violence, how the State of New Mexico is leading an effort to address this link, and what the community might consider doing in Los Alamos.

A performance of “Seascape” is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Los Alamos Little Theatre. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors and are available for advance purchase at CB Fox and also at the door 45 minutes before each performance.

From 5-7 p.m., two artists will be welcomed into Karen Wray Fine Art Gallery at the holiday open house and reception. Janice Parker Muir paints landscapes and Pat Soran is a master woodworker who makes wooden vases and jewelry boxes.

The Los Alamos ‘Teenth Thursday Shapenote Singing group will meet from 7–9 pm in the Chapel of Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church. No previous experience is required, just a willingness to learn and a love of singing. For more information: 661-2666 or eclaire@vla.com.
