This month’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Board meeting is scheduled early to avoid the holiday. It will be at 6:15 p.m. in Building #1, Camino Entrada Road, Pajarito Cliffs Site. The public is welcome to attend.

Parents may join their middle school students for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. Summit Foods invites parents to join their Hawks for turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, roll and pumpkin pie for $4. De Colores restaurant will sponsor a fundraiser for the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund from 5-8 p.m. Listen to or participate in Street Singers of NYC — sing karaoke or play. Watch or participate in Arm Wrestling for Sandy, some of the LAFD and LAPD staff members will lend a hand. There will also be a salsa bar, with five kinds of salsa, including Hurricane Habanaro. Minimum donation is $1 per cup. There will also be soft pretzels for sale. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross to help vicitms of the hurricane-stricken regions.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life will hold a volunteer informational meeting to start planning the 2013 Relay For Life of Los Alamos. The meeting will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Comfort Inn and Suites, 2455 Trinity Dr. RSVP to email@example.com by Nov. 14, 2012. Refreshments will be served.

The Girl Scout Holiday Bazaar will be from 9:30 a.m.-noon at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, McLaughlin Hall. There will be hand made items and food available for purchase.
The Pajarito Astronomers will hold their final 2012 county sponsored Dark Night at 5 p.m. at Spirio Soccer Field, Overlook Park. Weather permitting, the public is invited to come out, wander among the telescopes and star gaze. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. New Mexico Dance Theater Performance Company’s production of “The Nutcracker” will be at 7:30 p.m. at at the Duane W. Smith auditorium. Tickets are available in advance at Uli’s Cottontails or at the door 45 minutes prior to performance times and are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, age four and younger are admitted free.
There will be a fundraising event from 8-11 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Posse Lodge featuring music by The Rifters and Steve Wallin’s Texas barbecue hot brisket sandwiches and chili served all night or until gone. There will be a non-alcoholic bar for all mixers and set-ups. BYOB. Overnight RV parking is available at no charge. Cost is $15 per person and $25 per couple.

The Los Alamos Garden Club will hold their annual Christmas Wreath Sale from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Los Alamos National Bank. The wreaths will sell for $15 and bows will sell for $3. All proceeds from the sale benefit the club’s Scholarship Fund.
Nominations for new Living Treasures for the April 2013 ceremony are now being accepted. Include as much information as possible about the nominee and how the person has contributed to making Los Alamos a great place to live. Join the Los Alamos County Recreation Division, members of the Posse Lodge, Pony Club and Stable Owners Association as they create a holiday event for all ages from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 9 for the North Pole Workshop and Luminaria Walk. The event includes professional digital photos with Santa and his elves, warm drinks, light refreshments and a holiday craft. The event is free and a photo with Santa costs $5, with proceeds benefiting the Recreation Division Scholarship Fund.
