The Sierra Club open meeting will feature Movie Night at 6:20 p.m. in the Mesa Public Library Upstairs Meeting Rooms. The movie will be, “Gasland.” The Bush Administration’s Haliburton Act exempted hydraulic fracturing for gas production from the Safe Drinking Water Act.
Los Alamos Chapter #63 will hold their annual sales of Collin Street Bakery fruitcakes, apricot pecan cakes and pineapple pecan cakes at Los Alamos National Bank on Nov. 3, 18, Dec. 2, 9 and 16. For information, call Betty Robertson at 662-5185.
The Mesa Public Library Free Film Series presents “Pieces of April” at 6:30 p.m.
Los Alamos Little Theatre will present, “An Inspector Calls,” a play by J.B. Priestley, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 13. Tickets are available at C.B. Fox or at the door. The Los Alamos Little Theatre is located at 1670 Nectar St.
Beta Sigma Phi will host their 23rd annual arts and craft fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church, 97 East Road. Admission is free. The fair will offer a quilt and crafts raffle, vendors and food.
The Summit Garden Club will meet Nov. 7 to make straw ornaments for a Christmas tree. The tree will be donated to the Festival of Trees benefit, which supports the Senior Centers. Visitors welcome. For more information, call Betsy Comly, 672-1574.
The November meeting of the Los Alamos Master Gardeners will be at 7 p.m. in the Nambé Room at Fuller Lodge.
Los Alamos Co-op will host a “Shop with the Chef” program featuring Liz Thomson, former owner of Cookin’ in Style from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Co-op. Mesa Public Library’s Poetry Gathering will be at 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs rotunda.
The Betty Ehart Senior Center will sponsor the Festival of Chocolate from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 12. Tickets are available for $20 each. The Festival of Chocolate formally launches the Festival of Trees, which will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 19. Admission is free, but collections of non-perishable items are taken to benefit programs. The Atomic City Corvette Club meets at 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at Time Out Pizza in White Rock. Guests are always welcome. You do not need to own a Corvette to attend. For more information, contact Mike Luna at 672-4087.
