Author Talk with Anne Hillerman. 7-9 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library. Hillerman will have a talk and book signing of her new book “Spider Woman’s Daughter.” Public is invited.
Thursday
Los Alamos Farmers Market. 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mesa Public Library parking lot. Last market of the season. Trick or treat at the market. Best costume wins a basket filled with market items. Winner can pick up basket by 12:30 p.m.

The United Thrift Shop will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. United Thrift is open every first Saturday of each month.

The ladies of Beta Sigma Phi’s, Xi Nu chapter will have a craft fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Crossroads Bible Church. More than 60 vendors will sell their wares and a raffle will be throughout the day, featuring donated items from each vendor and a handmade quilt. The Pajarito Astronomers will be have the final County-Sponsored Dark Night of 2013, 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at Spirio Soccer Field, Overlook Park in White Rock. Weather permitting, the public is invited to come out, wander among the telescopes and star gaze. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Viewing will end before midnight.
