The LAHS NJROTC will host a Barbecue Brisket Night from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Posse Lodge on North Mesa. The cost is $10 per plate and includes brisket, potato salad, vegetable, a roll, drink and dessert.

The Authors Speak Series presents “Margaret Wood: O’Keeffe Stories,” at 7 p.m. in the upstairs rotunda of Mesa Public Library.

Coffee with Kristin Henderson is at 10 a.m. at the Coffee Booth.

The Hallowiener Parade will be at 5:30 p.m. on the north side of Ashley Pond. All Dachshund owners are encouraged to dress their pet in costume and meet at the pond. The parade will start around 6 p.m., ending across from CB Fox for a costume contest.

The Lads of Enchantment will present their Annual Barbershop Harmony Show at 7:30 p.m. at the United Church of Los Alamos. There will be an “Afterglow” in Graves Hall following the show. The Afterglow includes a snack and additional singing for $5. Advance tickets are $15 or $5 for students and are available at CB Fox or from chorus members. The Annual Los Alamos Health Fair, sponsored by the Los Alamos Heart Council, will be from 8 a.m.-noon at Griffith Gym.

The Los Alamos Middle School cheerleaders will host a huge resale from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Pueblo Complex Gym. Donations of items are welcome. Rent a space for $20. Call 500-5113 for more information.

Dorothy Hoard will lead a historical hike to Beanfield Mesa. Come hike the two old roads built prior to 1943 that were used to access the farm atop a high mesa. Meet at PEEC at 9:10 a.m. to carpool or at the trailhead at 9:30 a.m. Free, no registration required. Join the Los Alamos County Recreation Division for the pirate-themed Pumpkin Splash and Halloween Carnival at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center. This family event will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and includes pirate themed carnival games, jumping into the pool and finding your pumpkin, decorating your pumpkin and watching pirate movies. Kiwanis will have their annual Fall Pancake Breakfast from 7-11 a.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.

There will be a Halloween music recital at 4 p.m. at Fuller Lodge, free and open to the public. More than 50 students will perform in costume.  

The Pumpkin Glow will be from 6-9 p.m. on the lawn of Fuller Lodge. Carve a pumpkin at the pumpkin carving party, from 10 a.m.-noon at Fuller Lodge.
