The White Rock Family Friendly Film Series presents, “Spooky Buddies,” at 7 p.m. in the White Rock Town Hall.

The Los Alamos High School Olions will present, “The Insanity of Mary Girard,” by Lanie Robertson at 7 p.m. Oct. 20, 21 and 23 at Duane Smith Auditorium. There will also be a 3 p.m. show on Oct. 22. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors and may be purchased in advance at CB Fox, The Hill Diner or Otowi Station Bookstore. Tickets are also available at the door. The play contains sensitive subject matter and is not suitable for children.

The Democratic Party of Los Alamos County will meet from 7-8:30 p.m. in meeting room 3 of the Mesa Public Library. The featured speaker will be Rep. Brian Egolf Jr. D-N.M., Dist. 47. All interested Democrats are welcome to attend.

The Los Alamos Symphony Orchesta concert will be at
7 p.m. at the Crossroads Bible Church. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Students are admitted for free.

 Piñon Elementary School will have its annual pumpkin patch on Oct. 22.

Los Alamos Public School Credit Union and Zia Credit Union will host a “free shred day” from 10 a.m.-noon outside the Pueblo Complex, 1900 Diamond Dr. The public is encouraged to bring documents that need to be shredded and will be able to see the process.

The Pajarito Astronomers will hold a county-sponsored Dark Night at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Spirio Soccer Field, Overlook Park in White Rock. Weather permitting, the public is invited to come out, wander among the telescopes and star gaze. Viewing will end before midnight. Call Steve Becker at 662-3252 for information.

The Los Alamos High School Hilltalkers Debate Team is having an all you can eat fundraising waffle breakfast from 7:30 a.m.-10 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge. Tickets are $6 and will be available at the door. Children younger than six are admitted free.

Join local Zumba instructors for a “Party in Pink” Zumbathon charity event at the Los Alamos Family YMCA from 4:30-7 p.m. Door prizes and prizes for best costume will be awarded. Recurring meetings

The Atomic City Corvette Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at Time Out Pizza in White Rock. Guests are always welcome. You do not need to own a Corvette to attend. For more information, contact Mike Luna at 672-4087.
