Maul of Horrors Haunted House, sponsored by For Kids Sake. Open from 6-
11 p.m. through Oct. 23 and Oct. 25-29; from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 30; 7 p.m.-midnight Oct. 30; and noon-7 p.m. Oct. 31. DeVargas Center, Santa Fe. For Kids Sake will also host El Pueblo Asylum, a haunted house and pumpkin patch in Española. The event will be located at the old El Pueblo Bank Building in the San Pedro Plaza. The Sierrans will do the Valles Caldera fall highway cleanup. Those interested may help, it will take no more than two hours. Meet at Ponderosa Campground at 4:30 p.m., carpool to the Sierrans’ stretch of road at the Valles Caldera. New Mexico Public Lands Information Center’s Third Thursday series continues with “In The Places of the Spirits,” by writer-photographer David Grant Noble which summarizes his three decades of photographing southwestern petroglyphs. The event kicks off at 7 p.m.
at the Bureau of Land Management Building, 301 Dinosaur Trail, by N.M. 14 and Rancho Viejo Boulevard in Santa Fe. A free with booksigning and refreshments will follow. Call 505-954-2002 for details or directions.
Enjoy a Halloween hayride from 4-6 p.m. at the Posse Lodge. The cost for adults is $5; $2 for youth (4-17); and $1 for children. Members of the Posse Lodge, Pony Club and the Los Alamos Recreation Division work together to create a fun hayride for all ages. After the hayride, warm drinks and refreshments will be available at the Posse Lodge. Dress warmly and bring your own blankets. Register at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center front desk. There is a limited number of tickets being sold per hour.
Big MAC will host their middle-schoolers-only October dance, “Halloween Howl,” at the Pueblo Gym, 1990 Diamond Dr. from 7-9 p.m. Admission is $3. Parent chaperones are needed and their middle schooler will be admitted free. A costume contest will be held. Big MAC is sponsored by the Youth Activity Center, a program of the Los Alamos Family Council.
The Los Alamos Kiwanis club will hold a pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for children and are available at the door or can be purchased from Kiwanis members.
