Today
The Democratic Party of Los Alamos invites all Democrats to their monthly meeting 7 p.m. at UNM-LA in building 2.

The New Mexico Consortium of Academic Libraries will have a ribbon cutting ceremony 6 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library. The event will celebrate the new collaboration between universities and colleges in the state to collectively purchase a set of databases that will provide students and patrons of academic libraries, with access to information. The LAHS Naval Junior ROTC unit will have a brisket dinner on from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Posse Lodge. The donations will benefit former LAHS graduate, Lieutenant Micah Andersen, who was injured in Afghanistan. All donations will be made through Los Alamos National Bank into an account set up to benefit the family.

The Republican Central Committee will meet at 7 p.m. in room 608 on the UNM-LA campus. All interested Republicans are invited. Republican principles and rules will be one topic for discussion along with planning and organizing future events.

The Jemez House Thrift Shop, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expression in Book Art Exhibit. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library. Through Oct. 30.

Deep Into That Darkness Peering art exhibit. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fuller Lodge Art Center. Through Nov. 16.

Mountain Elementary School’s annual Halloween Carnival from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Weather permitting, game booths will be outdoors on the upper playground. Tickets are $5 for 20. All proceeds benefit the students of Mountain School through the PTA.

Pajarito Lodge Charity Waffle Breakfast to support the The American Red Cross. 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Pajarito Lodge No. 66 A.F. and A.M. For more information visit pajarito66.org.

Resale fundraiser for Los Alamos Middle School cheerleaders. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pueblo Gym Complex on Diamond Dr. They will be accepting donations of items to sell. Pancake breakfast at the Betty Ehart Center sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos. 7-11 a.m. $6 Adults, $5 seniors over 60 and students ages 12-18, $4 youth, free 0-3 years.

Ski Swap. Public drop off is 8 to 11 a.m., shopping at 1-4 p.m. at the Los Alamos Middle School. The Los Alamos Ski Swap has multiple vendors with new ski and boarding equipment and clothing for sale. Proceeds benefit the Los Alamos Ski Racing Club.

The Fuller Lodge 36th Annual Fall Arts and Crafts Fair features artists from all over northern New Mexico. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Crossroads Bible Church, 97 East Road.

Wild West Halloween with the Los Alamos Derby Dames at the Dixie Girl with music, dancing, costume contest and more. All day event. Tickets $30.
