Louise Pope presents “One Trash Can a Year,” at 7 p.m. in the upstairs meeting rooms in the Mesa Public Library. Participate in group activities to learn how you can drastically reduce your waste. Learn about “Earth Dollars” and how the trash can is your last resort.

Peggy Crawford: Patterns of Life will open in the upstairs art gallery of Mesa Public Library. A luncheon talk about Yemen will be from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Center, followed by meet the artist from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Mesa Art Gallery.
The October meeting of the Los Alamos Master Gardeners will begin with a program on preserving the fruits of the garden (and the vegetables) by freezing and canning, given by Paula Sanchez, Los Alamos County agent. Paula will follow this with a question and answer session. This program is open to the public. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the White Rock Town Hall. A business meeting will follow the program.
