Sierra Club Presents: Bag-it! Los Alamos without plastic. 7 p.m. at UNM-LA Building 2, Room 220. Jessie Emerson, who helped negotiate a plastic bag ban by the Santa Fe City Council, will tell: how the ban was passed, what was Sierra Club’s involvement, why Los Alamos might want to ban-the-bag, how to reduce waste generally; then conclude with the 78 movie, “Bag it,” about the major environmental problems caused by plastic bags. Los Alamos Farmers Market. 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mesa Public Library parking lot. Fall is here with the hot days and cool nights. Summer items will be finishing up and fall and winter foods shall be making first appearances. The public can pick up their favorite pastry with a hot cup of something.

The second of four scheduled workshops on the topic of Health Care insurance reform will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at UNM-LA Lecture Hall 2. The Community Winds perform 4 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church. Admission is free, however a $10 donation is recommended.
