LA Family Council is starting a new weekly Dream Group beginning at 10 a.m. for a six-week therapy group that will voyage into the interior landscape of dreams. Learn to interpret meaning and utilize guidance from your dreams through creative exercises and supportive dialogue with others. A stress free meditation class will be offered from 2:15-3:45 p.m. at the YMCA. The free class will be taught by Bhasweti Gewhas, a certified hypnotherapist, life coach, Reiki master and theta healer and will teach participants how to enjoy life without stress. For more information call 662-3100.
NJROTC will serve a full meal including barbecue brisket, potato salad, vegetable, a roll, drink and dessert from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Posse Shack. $10 per plate.
Agatha Christie, noted author of murder mystery novels and plays, has been honored this month in Great Britain and elsewhere on the 120th anniversary of her birth. The Los Alamos Little Theatre will pay its homage with auditions for the Christie play, “Go Back for Murder,” scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 at the theatre, 1670 Nectar Street.
The Knights of Columbus will hold their Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Los Alamos Golf Course. The event kicks off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Teams will be two-person and the cost is $100 per person. Awards will be presented for closest-to-the pin and long drive. Lunch and the awards ceremony have been slated for immediately following the tournament. Door prizes from local businesses will be presented. The Northern New Mexico Quilt Guild presents Quilt Fiesta 2010: Traditions Transformed, the Artistry of Quilting through Oct. 3 at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds, Extension Building, 3229 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe. Hours: Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Fuller Lodge Art center will host an opening reception for the Fall Fiber & Fashion exhibit from 5-7 p.m.
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Canyon Road will have a Craft Fair and Flea Market from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The indoor craft fair will include vendors from throughout the area selling everything from jewelry to candles and fall wreaths. The flea market outside will have all the thrill of yard sale shopping for treasures but in one convenient location. Indoor tables are still available for $25 and outdoor spaces for $20.
