Downtown Dogs. A weekly walking group for dogs and humans. The walk starts from Pet Pangaea at 6 p.m. on Thursday nights for a stroll around downtown Los Alamos. Bring a leash, no longer than six feet.

Los Alamos High School Olions present Melodrama. 7 p.m. preview. Tickets for this show will be two for one. $5 for everyone in the LAHS Blackbox.

“Detonography: The Art of Evelyn Rosenberg” at the Mesa Public Library upstairs gallery. Exhibit runs through Sept. 30.

Tee it Up For the Future! 1 p.m. shotgun start at Los Alamos Golf Course. Funds raised will go to a scholarship fund that will be distributed among local students. Organized by the Knights of Columbus. Register at Los Alamos Golf Course or go to kofc.ihmcc.org/2014_KofC_Golf_Registration.pdf.

Fee Free Day for National Public Lands Day. Visitors are welcome at all National Park Service areas nationwide with no entrance fees (camping and other fees are still collected). The bookstore has a 15 percent discount on all items and the gift shop will have specials as well.

Los Alamos Health Fair. Starting at 8 a.m. at the Los Alamos High School Gym.

Friends of the Shelter will be sponsoring a Mobile Pet Adoption. 8 a.m.-noon near the Los Alamos High School Gym as part of the Annual Health Fair.

Special hike for Public Lands Day. Join the Bandelier Trails Program Lead Dale Coker for a backcountry hike. This will be a cross-country (no trail) hike along a portion of the monument’s east boundary, a very rarely visited part of Bandelier. Meet at 8 a.m. at the Scenic Overlook on the Bandelier Entrance Road. For details call the Visitor Center at 672-3861, ext. 517 to sign up.
