Local Boy Scout Jin Park will hold a Seed Ball Drive, from noon-4 p.m. to help with reforestation efforts from the Las Conchas fire. Several locations will offer an open house-style format where volunteers can drop by for any length of time during the four-hour event. The process involves mixing mud and clay with grass seed, forming small balls, which will later be distributed throughout the burned areas. The locations include Ashley Pond and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos and Rocket Park in White Rock. Small financial donations can be directed to JJAB at P.O. Box 4716 in Los Alamos to offset the cost of the Scout project.
