Family Game Night at Mesa Public Library. Join the geeks and gamers from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the upstairs rotunda for game boards galore. All ages welcome, please bring a parent or another adult if you’re 12 or younger.

Annual Butterfly Count for Los Alamos. New Mexico butterfly guru Steve Cary will identify butterflies and discuss their habits and life histories. No experience necessary. Three habitats will be counted: mesa top, streamside and high altitude. Meet at Burnt Mesa Trailhead on N.M. 4 at 9 a.m. Bring close-focusing binoculars, water and sturdy shoes. Some nets provided. The Los Alamos Farmers Market will host an ice cream social at 9:30 a.m. in the Mesa Public Library parking lot.
Los Alamos County Fair entries are due today. They will be accepted from 2-6 p.m. at Mesa Public Library. Bring your articles. Mesa Public Library hosts Poetry Gatherings at 6:30 p.m. in the Southwest Room. Everyone is invited to come read their own poetry, their favorite author’s work or just listen.
