Wildflower Walk with PEEC. Join Chick Keller, curator of PEEC’s Jemez Mountains Herbarium for an easy walk along a local trail to learn the names of wildflowers. A plant list will be provided. The White Rock Family Friendly Film Series presents, “Puss in Boots,” at 7 p.m. in the White Rock Town Hall.
The monthly Democratic Party of Los Alamos County meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Mesa Library. Topics covered will be meeting the Democratic candidates running for local offices and discussing upcoming events for the candidates; hearing from Paul Frederickson about a conference he attended in Washington, D.C., planning the Fourth of July event; and a debriefing of the JFK dinner. All registered Democrats are welcome to attend.
The Mesa Public Library is hosting a poetry reading at 7 p.m. in the upstairs rotunda, with David Mutschlecner and Jane Lin.
Young musicians night will be at 7 p.m. at Mesa Public Library. Children ages 4-12 are invited to sign up at the youth center at Mesa Public Library. A keyboard will be provided for pianists.
Quiet, Gentle Walk with Pajarito Environmental Education Center and Sue Watts. A gentle walk for those who want a quiet walk along a relatively flat trail. The walks range from one to two miles in length and may include gentle changes in elevation. They have been known to stop on the way up steeper inclines to feel the mullein leaves. By popular demand, they are keeping the 20 minutes of silent walking. The group will leave PEEC at 9:30 a.m. and return around 11:30 a.m.
