Today
A flower walk will be hosted by Chick Keller starting at 5:30 p.m. Interested participants can meet at Pajarito Environmental Education Center, 3540 Orange Street, and can carpool to the walk location. For information, visit www.PajaritoEEC.org. The event is free and open to the public.

Thursday
Steve Brugger, acting director of the Los Alamos Community Development department, will be the speaker at Lunch with a Leader. Lunch with a Leader, which is hosted by the League of Women Voters, is at 11:45 a.m. It will be at Central Avenue Grill. Brugger will discuss streamlining the planning and building process. Price for the lunch is $15, including tax and gratuity. No reservation is necessary.

A poetry gathering will be held at the Mesa Public Library’s upstairs rotunda. The gathering will start at 6:30 p.m.

The White Rock Family Friendly Film Series will present “Gnomeo and Juliet.” The movie will start at 7 p.m. at White Rock Town Hall.

Saturday
A garden fair will be Saturday in the demonstration garden across from the library. The event includes mini-lectures for the gardener, craft activities for children, garden tours, a plant clinic, rose-pruning demonstration and plant sale.

June 14
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will hold a Flag Day Ceremony at its lodge. The ceremony is set for 6 p.m. at the Elks’ lodge, located at 1600 Trinity Drive. Hot dogs, potato salad, chips and pie will be served after the ceremony.

The Santa Fe Christian Women will host its June luncheon. The luncheon is at noon at the Holiday Inn, 4048 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe. Dorothy Smoker of the New Mexico History Museum and former military wife Lucy Gray are the scheduled guest speakers. Price is $15. For more information, call 473-7938.

The Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB) will hold its monthly meeting at the Pajarito Cliffs site. The meeting, which will take place in Building 1, is set for 6:15. Call 412-9371 for information.
