Summer Family Evenings: Our Furry and Feathered Friends — Living with New Mexico’s Wildlife. 6:30 to 8 p.m. PEEC welcomes the Land of Enchantment Wildlife Foundation and the Santa Fe Raptor Center for a presentation of the different animals in NM, and how we can live in harmony with them. The Los Alamos Adobe Users Group (LAAUG), meets from 7-9 p.m., the first Tuesday of each month, upstairs in the Fuller Lodge Art Center. The focus of LAAUG is digital photography post-processing. Digital capture is also discussed. Meetings moderated by Doug Coombs and Ken Hanson, or by a group member. Past presentations are posted and available to all on the website laaug.wordpress.com/. The Darker Side of White: Art by Tiffany Rose, June 1-29 at the Mesa Public Library Upstairs Art Gallery. Opening reception from 4:30-7:30 p.m. June 5. Show runs through June 29.

“Things with Wings,” is a juried group exhibit displaying the work of Los Alamos artists and artists from northern New Mexico. Each artist has an interpretation of the theme, as reflected in paintings, ceramics, photographs and manipulated digital media. The Portal Gallery features the woodcut prints of Lily Schlien. Daily through June 14 at the Fuller Lodge Art Center.

Quiet, Gentle Walk. 9 a.m. to noon. A gentle walk for those who want a quiet hike along a relatively flat trail. The walks range from one to two miles in length and may include gentle changes in elevation. Led by Sue Watts. Meet at PEEC at 9 a.m. to carpool to the trailhead. Melissa Mackey will take children ages 6-10 on an imaginative journey of life in our Canyons, Mesas, Mountains, and Skies using stories, outdoor play and games to explore one theme each week. The Los Alamos Council on Cancer in collaboration with the American Cancer Society is presenting a “Look Good Feel Better” program from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Cancer Corner at Los Alamos Medical Center. The mission of Look Good Feel Better is to improve the self-esteem and quality of life of people undergoing treatment for cancer. It aims to improve a woman’s self-image and appearance through complimentary group, individual and self-help beauty sessions.

Downtown Dogs. A weekly walking group for dogs and humans. The walk starts from Pet Pangaea at 6 p.m. for a stroll around downtown Los Alamos. Bring a leash, no longer than six feet.
