June 1
The    Sierra  Club  will  have  a    public    meeting  at 7 p.m. in the Upstairs Meeting Rooms, Mesa Public Library. Water Monitoring Program Manager Danny Katzman will speak on, “LANL’s Stormwater Management Projects and Protection of the Rio Grande.”

June 2
Los Alamos Lions Club meets at 6 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month. Those interested in the Lions Club should call Dennis Wulff at 672-9563 or email drwulff47@aol.com.

June 5
Field trip to the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve, led by docent Natali Steinberg.  Meet at noon at PEEC.  Bring lunch, water. Free, but let PEEC know you’re coming, 662-0460 or programs@pajaritoeec.org.  

June 6
The next meeting of the Summit Garden Club will feature a lecture and tour of the gardens at the home of Los Alamos landscape designer Kathy Strong, with a second tour of a low-maintenance, no grass, landscape, currently in the midst of construction. Visitors welcome. Call Susan Larocque, 672-9067, for more information.

June 11
A garden fair will be on June 11 in the demonstration garden across from the library. The event includes mini-lectures for the gardener, craft activities for children, garden tours, a plant clinic, rose-pruning demonstration and plant sale.
