The Sierrans will host a highway clean up along the stretch of road on N.M. 4 at the Valles Caldera. Meet at Ponderosa Campground at 5 p.m. to carpool. It should take no more than two hours. Bring work gloves and water. Trash bags will be provided.

The League of Women Voters Forum will be at 6:30 p.m. in the UNM-LA Lecture Hall, Building 2. Meet U.S. Republican Congressional candidates, the New Mexico Senate candidates and those from the Public Regulation Commission and district attorney races.

The White Rock Family Friendly Film Series presents, “Hugo,” at 7 p.m. in the White Rock Town Hall.

The Los Alamos Branch of AAUW will hold their Spring Membership Tea from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Hearth Room at the Unitarian Church, 1738 N. Sage St. The speaker, Sharon Snyder, is the author of a new book about the life of Peggy Pond Church entitled “At Home on the Slopes of Mountains.” Help us to celebrate Peggy Church’s era by dressing in the 40s, 50s-style in hat, gloves, pearls if you desire. Membership dues will be collected and the new board members will be installed.


Jennifer Sublett from the Española Ranger District is organizing a trail rehab on the Big Tesuque Trail (#152 on the way to the Santa Fe Ski Basin) from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Erosion control will also be worked on. For more information, contact Sublett at 505-753-7331.

The Pajarito Astronomers will hold a county-sponsored Dark Night at 8 p.m. in the Spirio Soccer Field at Overlook Park. Weather permitting, the public is invited to come out, wander among the telescopes and star gaze. The planets Venus, Mars and Saturn will be visible, as will Saturn’s rings and moons. There will be a tour of the spring constellations and there will be telescope views of double stars, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Annular Eclipse Viewing at PEEC. This rare annular eclipse will take place just before sundown. PEEC will have telescopes with solar filters set up at the Overlook Park Soccer Fields starting at 6:30 p.m. Free.
