Benefit spaghetti dinner for Joy Handsberry, a Los Alamos High School teacher battling cancer. 5:30 p.m. at the Christian church. There will also be a dessert auction, sponsored by the Los Alamos Math department. The public is welcome. Tickets are not required, but donations are appreciated.
The Boy Scouts of America is having its annual Fire-Up for Scouting Cub Scout recruiting events at fire stations in Los Alamos and White Rock. Event No. 1 will be 6:30-8 p.m. at Station No. 4, 4401 Diamond Drive across from the Golf Course. Boys who will graduate from Kindergarten through fourth grades (5-10 years old) can be registered for the Cub Scouting program, including summer activities such as June Day Camp. Free Chamber workshop on how to start or re-invent a business. 1 -3 p.m. at UNM-LA Lecture Hall 2. The presenters will be the four principals in LABi, a local start-up business whose mission is to assist businesses, particularly tech transfer and startups, at all stages of development. “Sisters in Art — Sisters at Heart,” shows daily in the Portal Gallery of Fuller Lodge Art Center through Saturday.
“Jump for Joy”. Benefit for Joy Handsberry, a Los Alamos High School teacher battling cancer. Students and staff will take shifts jumping on a trampoline for 24 hours straight. 7:30 a.m. until the following day. Donations are accepted for meeting this all night challenge. Throughout the event, music and snacks will be provided to those who attend.
