The Los Alamos Federated Republican Women will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Nona Bowman, 1045 Los Pueblos (662-3192). Steve Lynne of the Los Alamos County Administration Department will be the guest speaker. Members are reminded to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries for charity donations. The Los Alamos Genealogical Association meets at 7 p.m. in Room 3 of the Mesa Public Library. Alan Wadlinger will give the presentation, “Historical Drivers and Emigration — Iroquois Confederacy Influence on the U.S. Government Structure.” The public is invited. The Aspen Elementary Spring Carnival will be from 5:30-8 p.m. There will be games, refreshments, a children’s book swap, silent auction, cake walk, bounce house and more. Admission is free. Tickets for games will be five for $1 at the door.
The grand opening celebration at the Los Alamos Co-op will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with events scheduled. Members will save 10 percent off all regular-priced items that day.
The Los Alamos High School baseball team is having a waffle breakfast at the Masonic Lodge, 15th St. and Canyon. A full breakfast including waffles, eggs, sausage or bacon and juice, coffee or tea will be offered for $5 in advance or $6 at the door. The Hula Ministry is hosting a fundraiser at Crossroads Bible Church, 97 East Road. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. There will be a traditional pre-show until 5 p.m., when chicken teriyaki dinner with desserts and drinks will be served. Hula dancing and worship will be from 6:15-7:15 p.m. Tickets, $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-12 and free for children age five and younger, may be purchased at Brownell’s Hallmark or by calling 920-0872.
The Family YMCA is offering free activities in support of active lifestyles at its annual Healthy Kids Day, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The Y is located at 1450 Iris St. For more information call 662-3100 or visit www.laymca.org.
