The Sierra Club will host an open meeting at 7 p.m. in the upstairs meeting rooms of Mesa Public Library. The winners of the Sierra Club’s Environmental Award will present their posters.
 The Mesa Public Library presents “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan,” at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Mesa Public Library’s Free Film Series.
“Herbal and Natural Remedies for the Childbearing Years,” is a class that will be taught by Kristi Beguin from 6-8 p.m. at Pajarito Environmental Education Center, 3540 Orange St. Register in advance at PajaritoEEC.org or by calling 662-0460. The fee is $20 or $16 for PEEC members.
The League of Women Voters will hold its annual meeting at 10 a.m. at the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2390 North Road. Following a business meeting and potluck luncheon, John Arrowsmith, manager of the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities, will speak at 12:30 p.m. about the Smart Grid and Smart House projects.  The public is welcome to join the group for the talk.

Los Alamos Family Council’s 6th Annual Fabulous Fifties Family Sock Hop will be from 6-10 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church’s Parish Hall. Tickets for the Sock Hop and for the Sec Sandoval print drawing can be purchased at Brownell’s Hallmark or by calling 662-4160. Los Alamos Light Opera announces auditions for its fall 2011 production of Steven Sondheim’s “Into the Woods,” from 1-6 p.m. April 10 and from 6:30-9 p.m. April 11 at the Duane Smith Auditorium. Be prepared to sing a solo, not necessarily from “Into the Woods.”  There will be a music workshop from 3-6 p.m. April 3 at the Unitarian Church in Los Alamos. ’Tweens to Teens: A workshop for 9-13 year old girls and their moms or other female adult will be from 5:30-8 p.m. at Family Strengths Network. Megan Pfeffer and Jennifer Bartram will host the workshop. Registration fee is $35 and includes a book and pizza dinner for two. Register at www.lafsn.org. Financial aid is available.
