“Race to Nowhere,” a film by LAHS student Tessa Snyder. 6:30 p.m. at UNM-LA Lecture Hall, building 2. Benefit showing and community discussion. A documentary film explaining the pressures faced by young people, teachers and parents in a pressure-cooker culture. Free, but any donations will go toward funding LAHS well-being projects.

Authors Speak Series. Noted poets and publishers Veronica Golos and Andrea Watson. 7 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library Upstairs Rotunda.

“Sisters in Art — Sisters at Heart,” shows daily in the Portal Gallery of Fuller Lodge Art Center through April 26.

Los Alamos Big Band free concert and dance. 7 p.m. at Fuller Lodge.
Saturday
DIY Natural Beauty Secrets by Lisa Bakosi. 1-3 p.m. In this hands-on class. Lisa will share her secrets to making beauty products using simple natural ingredients while also saving money. Class size is limited to accommodate the space, so register early. $20 for Co-op members and $25 for non-members.

Bradbury Science Museum Cinema. 10 a.m. Short science films ranging in topics from microbes to aquifers to addiction. The education level of these videos can range from elementary age to adults, depending on the video chosen. Visit lanl.gov/museum/events/calendar.shtml for topics of interest.

Free legal fair via Skype from the Mesa Public Library. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Road in Santa Fe. The fair will serve Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, and Los Alamos Counties.
Sunday
The Los Alamos Pony Club (LAPC) hosts a dressage horse show and rally at the North Mesa stables. Come participate in or watch the event, which supports the nonprofit youth athletic organization. The LAPC/New Mexico Dressage Association schooling show and Southwest Region Pony Club Rally begins at 9 a.m., attracting riders from across the region. Dressage entry forms can be found at New Mexico Dressage Association website, nmdressage.net.
