Celtic Fire will perform an Irish music and dance show at 7:30 p.m. at Duane Smith Auditorium. Tickets, $9-$36, available at CB Fox or www.celticfiretix.com.

The Los Alamos U19 Girls Rugby Team, a nonprofit organization, will host a St. Patty’s dinner at 5:30 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge, next to Sonic. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Los Alamos Garden Club hosts the spring meeting of all District II garden clubs in Fuller Lodge. Members and guests from Summit Garden Club, Floral Designers Club and Angel Fire Club will attend. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by business meetings and an installation of new officers. The Decadent Table will serve a catered lunch at noon. Los Alamos Little Theatre presents, “Moonlight and Magnolias,” at 7:30 p.m. March 18 and 19. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and are available in advance at CB Fox, and at the door before each performance.

The Youth Activity Center’s Big MAC hosts its Shamrock Dance from 7-9 p.m. at Pueblo Gym, 1900 Diamond Dr. The dance is for 7th and 8th graders only. Chaperones, especially dads, are needed and may admit their middle schoolers for free. To volunteer or for more information call Mary at 662-9412. The former policy analyst from the Reagan White House and best-selling author will be in Los Alamos March 19 for two lectures and a book signing. The United Church of Los Alamos will host Dinesh D’Souza from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The $30 registration includes lunch and book signings. Pajarito Environmental Education Center will host a Star Party at 7 p.m. with Dr. James Maxwell. Learn about the universe with a short illustrated talk, then head outdoors to see the stars through PEEC’s large, 20-inch telescope.  Free, family-friendly, and open to the public.

The Los Alamos Piecemakers Quilt Guild is having a March program entitled “Reaching Beyond Tradition with Foundation Paper Piecing” and trunk show given by Judy Niemeyer at 7 p.m. at the White Rock Baptist Church.  Niemeyer will also conduct a workshop from
