 The 19th Annual Los Alamos Photographers Show. Daily through March 28 at the Mesa Public Library Upstairs Art Gallery.

Poetry gatherings. 6:30 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library Southwest Room.

The Los Alamos Genealogical Association will meet at 7 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library. The speaker will be Eowyn Langholf from Albuquerque and her presentation is “A Quickie on the Wiki, It’s not that Tricky.” The public is invited. The traditional pre-meeting no host dinner will be 5:30 p.m. at China Moon and Langholf will be there to meet and visit.

Pi Day Special Lecture with Reuben Hersh, “Mathematician’s Delight.” 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Bradbury Science Museum.

Farewell Open House for Dr. Joseph Matthews, who will be discontinuing his dental practice in Los Alamos after 23 years of service. 1-3 p.m. at 112 Central Park Square.

“Kindertransport,” 7:30 p.m., at Los Alamos Little Theater. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students, and can be purchased at the door or online at LALT.org.

Waffle Breakfast to benefit Assistance Dogs of the West. 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at The Pajarito Lodge AF & AM No. 66 (at the corner of 15th St. and Canyon Road). Bradbury Science Museum Cinema. 10 a.m. Short science films ranging in topics from microbes to aquifers to addiction. The education level of these videos can range from elementary age to adults, depending on the video chosen. Visit lanl.gov/museum/events/calendar.shtml for topics of interest.

The members of the American Legion Post 90 would like to invite you to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day & the Post 90’s birthday, Saturday March 15 at the American Legion Post 90 located at 1325 Trinity Dr. The public is welcome to come enjoy corned beef, cabbage and potatoes for $8.00 starting at 2 p.m. Entertainment and live music provided by singer-song writer, Sue Barr, starting at 7 p.m., members and bona fide guests are welcome.

Shark’s Tooth Ridge Outing. 8 a.m. Local geologist Patrick Rowe, of the Los Alamos Geological Society, will lead a group to the aptly-named area near Cabezon, NM. At this site, trip participants will likely find 5 different species of cretaceous age shark’s teeth. Advance registration is required, and space is limited. $20/$16 PEEC members per family, or $10/$8 PEEC members per individual. Meet at PEEC to carpool.
