Los Alamos Community of Atheists will have the monthly meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m., upstairs at Mesa Public Library. This month’s discussion will focus on whether or not belief and non-belief are choices. Email email@example.com with questions or find them on Facebook.
Composting Made Easy. 6:30 p.m. Certified arborist Laural Hardin will teach all the basics about composting and answer any questions in a presentation at PEEC. This hour and a half class covers all the basics plus offers practical tips and recommendations on starting, building and using nature’s best soil conditioner, compost. Gillian Sutton, the Empty Bowls Project and Self Help Inc. will host Food and Networking. 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, 109 Central Park Square, Find out more about the fundraiser for Self Help on March 15 at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. Self Help Inc. uses the funds from the event to help people with all kinds of needs.
“Eclectic is Us: Assemblage Works by Dirk Wales.” Exhibit runs through Thursday at the Mesa Public Library Art Gallery.

Friends of the Shelter is sponsoring a Mobile Pet Adoption from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in front of the Smith’s Food and Drug in Los Alamos. Meet some wonderful shelter dogs and talk with volunteers about any of the cats or dogs currently at the shelter.
The Community Winds perform 7 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church.
Cowboy Pancake Breakfast. 7-11 a.m. at Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse Lodge, 650 North Mesa Road. Menu includes plain, blueberry, banana, chocolate chip, plus a seasonal surprise pancake, plus sausage, bacon, eggs, juice and coffee . $7/adults $4/children under 10 years. Proceeds to benefit Camp Corazones.
