The Republican Party of Los Alamos County announces the 2014 pre-Primary convention 7 p.m. at the UNM-LA Jeannette Wallace Hall, Room 505. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m., and doors close promptly at 7 p.m. The Central Committee will meet briefly at 7 p.m. to elect the convention officers. At 7:15 p.m., the convention will begin with Ward Caucuses held to elect delegates to the County Pre-primary Nominating Convention. At 7:30 p.m., the County Convention of elected Ward delegates will convene also in Jeanette Wallace Hall to elect delegates to the state RPNM Pre-primary Nominating Convention to be March 1 in Albuquerque. Backcountry Film Festival. 7 p.m. The only showing in New Mexico. The 10 short films are included in this year’s traveling film festival. Las Aranas Spinners and Weavers Guild from Albuquerque and Central New Mexico and Las Tejedoras Fiber Arts Guild from Los Alamos, Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico, Tapestry Show featuring the Alphabet Soup Exhibit begins 10 a.m. Friday at the Fuller Lodge Art Center Portal Gallery. The exhibit runs through March 15.
Pajarito Masonic Lodge No. 66 invites the community to join them on from 7:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m. for a Waffle Breakfast to benefit Los Alamos Boy Scout Troop No. 222. Nature Playtimes Sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico. 10-11 a.m. Bird-themed this week in honor of the 17th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count! Toddlers, preschoolers and their caregivers come to PEEC to explore the natural world. Each Playtime features a story and stations centered around a theme, as well as outside time.
