Grief Group is forming open to all members of the community who at some time have suffered the loss of someone dear to them. 1-2:30 p.m. at the United Church. The Group, facilitated by Pastor Logan, will meet in the lounge of the Christian education Building, off the Canyon Road parking lot.

The Los Alamos Federated Republican Women will have a meeting from noo to 2 p.m. Jan. 9 at the home of Donna MacDonald, Ridge Park Condos, 1003 Oppenheimer Drive. Bradbury Science Museum Cinema. 10 a.m. Short science films ranging in topics from microbes to aquifers to addiction. The education level of these videos can range from elementary age to adults, depending on the video chosen. Visit lanl.gov/museum/events/calendar.shtml for topics of interest.

Broken Mesa Ruins Hike. 11 a.m. Join Janie O’Rourke on a PEEC hike to explore Broken Mesa Ruins. The hike starts in Pajarito Acres, a subdivision of White Rock. The hike is about three to four miles long and takes approximately three hours. Limited to 20 and registration is required. Free. The Atomic City Children’s Theater (ACCT) announces auditions for ACCT II Disney 101 Dalmations KIDS. ACCT II auditions are open to third and fourth grade students from Los Alamos and White Rock. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and auditions begin at 2 p.m. in the Piñon Elementary School.
